About

White-label Craft CMS builds and hosting for design studios, from seven people and a dog in one room in Bristol. This page is who we are. How a build runs, and what we won't do, is on the process page.

Who you're
hiring

Everyone below does the work. Your questions go to one of these people, not a shared inbox. The one with four legs handles security.

Tom Hartley, FounderTom HartleyFounder

Tom started FigToTwig in 2023 after ten years as the developer design studios borrowed and didn't credit. He put the no-direct-work rule in the first contract and it's still there. He quotes every job himself and gets twitchy when a build runs over.

Poppy Radcliffe, Technical DirectorPoppy RadcliffeTechnical Director

Poppy was our first hire and became Technical Director a year later. She owns the handoff spec and looks after the hosting: servers, backups, and the incident channel nobody else wants to be in at 3am.

Callum Rathbone, Senior Craft DeveloperCallum RathboneSenior Craft Developer

Callum is from Glasgow and has been writing Twig since Craft 2. He does the plugin audits, keeps composer.lock tidy, and has firm views on which release notes matter. He cycles in whatever the weather, and mentions it.

Nell Ogilvie, Front-end LeadNell OgilvieFront-end Lead

Nell came from a type foundry and can spot a 2px baseline drift from across the room. She owns the front-end kit and the Lighthouse scores, and nothing ships without her reduced-motion pass.

Martha Hartley, Accessibility LeadMartha HartleyAccessibility Lead

Martha spent fifteen years in NHS digital services, where accessibility isn't optional. She reviews every design file before any code is written and keeps a list of things that would have cost more later. It's long.

Idris Pemberton, Craft DeveloperIdris PembertonCraft Developer

Idris is from Swansea, with a maths degree he says he's never used. He builds most of the entry types and the import scripts for WordPress migrations, and has moved more Advanced Custom Fields than anyone should.

Sophie Yardley, Studio PartnershipsSophie YardleyStudio Partnerships

Sophie was a producer at a design studio, so she's sat where you're sitting. She handles the first call, the quote and the awkward questions, and she'll tell you straight if a job isn't a fit.

Biscuit, Head of SecurityBiscuitHead of Security

Biscuit is a border terrier and our Head of Security. She checks every courier, has never let a threat through, and knows the DPD driver by name. She isn't on the payroll but has views on the biscuit budget.

The questions
we get first

Will you ever contact our client?

No. It's in the contract, not just the sales pitch. We don't take direct work and we don't market to end clients.

Can you white-label completely?

Yes. Your email, your Slack, your repo, your name on the commits. Some studios introduce us as their dev team. Some never mention us.

Do we have to host with you?

No. It's cheaper and calmer if you do, because the people who built it are the ones keeping it running, but the repo is yours either way.

What if our Figma isn't tidy?

It rarely is. We flag what's ambiguous within a day, make sensible calls on the rest, and send you a list of every call we made.

Do you build anything other than Craft?

No. One CMS, built the same way every time, is why our estimates hold.

Why so few plugins?

Every one is a licence, an upgrade path and a security surface. We use the ones that are better than what we'd write, and write the rest, so your client's renewal list stays short.
